P.O.D. had done their time in the nu-metal trenches by the time they released Satellite in 2001 (on 9/11, of all days), but this was their true breakthrough point. As the leading force of the genre’s Christian wing, the San Diego band were more interested in writing about perseverance and making the most of life than lamenting about the torturous agony of existence, and addictively uplifting tracks like “Alive,” “Boom,” “Youth of the Nation,” and “Satellite” became their trademark bangers.
